In order to run the app, your device must have Bluetooth 5.0 or newer. Virtually all modern smartphones will be fine, however older tablets should be checked.
For Android devices visit the Google Play Store For iOS devices visit this link to join our public beta and download the app.
On the first open of the app, you will be greeted with a login screen.
Select the "Sign up" option
Fill in your personal details and select "Signup"
We will send you an email with a link to verify the email address. Please check your junk folder too.
Once verified, return to our app and select "I have Verified".
After login, you'll be presented with the device connection screen.
Make sure your devices are turned on and ready to connect. The LED should be flashing.
Select the "Connect left" button and select the desired device from the list.
Repeat this process to connect the Right device.
Once both devices are connected, select the "Continue to app" button
Right now, you'll be presented with a blank home screen. Before we get to filling that up with data, you'll want to check that your devices are at zero. This works the same way as your kitchen scales - we want to pre-set the value to 0 before doing any measurement.
Navigate to the Record screen.
Check the live force reading - if it is not at 0, then proceed.
Go to the device screen by pressing on the device serial number section in the top left.
Select Zero the device
Press the Confirm button once you have loaded a bar into the hooks and are happy with the setup.
The app will take a 5 second average measurement of force from the devices. Any external force on the devices during this time will negatively impact the accuracy of this process.
Navigate back to the Record screen - you're now ready to test!
Time to let it rip!
When you're ready, press the Start button. There will be a 5 second countdown and then data collection will automatically start.
Collect some juicy strength data. The max test length is currently 30 seconds.
Keep an eye on the Live force and Peak force - these will update during the test.
Once you're happy, press Stop Recording to finish the test.
In the post-test screen, you can adjust the onset and end points by dragging the blue circles. You can also tap Other Metrics to view more test metrics (Impulse, RFD, etc).
After you press the Save button, there will be a popup that warns that there isn't any athlete or test assigned to the data yet. Press Yes, I understand and the test will be saved. We'll cover assigning test data in the next sections.
Now you've collected some data, lets go back to the home screen and look at it again.
Go back to the Home screen
The test you just completed will be shown in this list as unassigned person and unassigned test.
If we select it, we'll be taken to the individual test screen. In this screen you can adjust the onset point and review performance metrics.
Now you know how to collect and analyse isometric strength data! If you're just looking to run a quick isometric test or record warm ups - this method is fast. Or maybe you forgot to create an athlete's profile before the session - this method can be used to get save data and then you can assign the test after the training session.
In the next section, we'll go over creating athlete and test profiles so that we can get those sweet, sweet trend charts.
